The Fashion World Springs into Saint Louis with Saint Louis Fashion Week

The fashionistas and Scott Disicks of Saint Louis descend on Plush Saint Louis tonight to kick off Saint Louis Fashion Week. Get your tickets here for $10 or at the door for $15. General Admission begins at 8pm and is 21+. The Rally Saint Louis team will be there, talking about Saint Louis and how comfortable our Levi Jeans are even if they aren’t high fashion.

What’s going down? A no seat fashion show with DJ TrashTalk and Elise Lammert, and a never-before-seen presentation from designers Laura Kathleen, Michael Drummond, Paulie Gibson and KayOss Designs.

We’re not exactly sure what to look for, so we asked Emily Iovaldi of Fox & Gypsy to fill us in.

“I am most excited about all the fantastic colors and prints. I am ALL about prints and mixing them. Anything goes when it comes to the right patterns; for example, currently I love a great floral print mixed with some black and white striped pants, or even just a really great vibrant spring color paired with a patter. I am getting anxious about all the upcoming styles just talking about it! There is such an art when it comes to fashion and I think that is what draws me to it so much. What better canvas to use as a creative outfit then ourselves!”

She was also kind enough to provide advice to the less-than-fashion-savvy, such as myself. “When it comes to fashion, I think its important for people to, if nothing else, understand that it is not some sort of vanity fare,” Iovaldi explained. “It, like anything else, is a way for people to express themselves. In the end, it doesn’t matter WHAT we are wearing or how that looks to other people; it’s about creating something that is our own. Sure the clothes we wear are not self designed, but they way we wear it most certainly is!”
